Chevy Keeps Families in Mind with 2015 Impala & Colorado

DELAWARE, Ohio - With the GM Foundation's recent release of the Safe Kid's Worldwide study showing that nine out of 10 parents transition their kids from a booster seat to a seatbelt before the suggested weight and height, General Motors wanted to do their part to eliminate risk. How Soon is Too Soon: Moving Children from Booster Seat to Seat Belt

DELAWARE, Ohio - It is National Child Passenger Safety Week, which has us wondering if parents know how soon is too soon to move children from the booster seat to the seat belt. A recent study done by Safe Kids Worldwide was released stating that nine out of 10 parents take their children out of their booster seats before they are tall enough. What most parents are also unaware of is that those booster seats actually reduce the risk of serious injury by 45 percent!

According to the report "Buckle Up: Booster Seats", seven out of 10 parents did not know how tall their child had to be to ride in the vehicle without a booster seat. To prevent the risk of injury, all children should be at least 57 inches and weigh between 80 and 100 pounds to ride in a vehicle without a booster seat. 

GM has a committed partnership with Safe Kids, working to raise awareness and improve child passenger safety. The result of this study is a great reminder that there is so much more that General Motors and Safe Kids can do to ensure all children are buckled up property during every single ride.
