2014 Chevy Spark Only Minicar to Earn Top Safety Pick

DELAWARE, Ohio- In recent testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, news broke that some of the tiniest cars on the road aren't that safe. Except for one. The 2014 Chevrolet Spark was the only minicar to earn an IIHS 2014 Top Safety Pick Rating and an "Acceptable" rating in the new Small Overlap Crash Test!

In 2014 testing, many vehicles in the minicar segment actually lost their top safety pick status from last year due to the poor results in the small overlap crash test! The good news is that Chevrolet's global safety team has devoted serious time and effort into developing a small car that delivers big safety, which explains why the 2014 Chevy Spark was the only minicar to earn an IIHS 2014 Top Safety Pick Rating. Notably, the Spark was also the only vehicle in the segment to earn an "acceptable" rating in the new small overlap test too.

Proving to be a challenging new test, the small-overlap crash test was incorporated in 2012 to evaluate what happens when the front corner of the vehicle strikes another vehicle or object, like a tree or utility pole. The test is conducted by having the front quarter of the driver's side of the vehicle strike a barrier at 40 mph. The test is difficult for all vehicles since it bypasses the front-end crush zone, but it has proved to be especially challenging for small cars which are already at a safety disadvantage due to their size.

Sixth-Gen Chevrolet Camaro Rendering

DELAWARE, Ohio- The extremely impressive Corvette Z06 just made its debut, yet we just can't wait for the next best thing which happens to currently be the next generation Camaro. The new performance car isn't due out until the 2016 model year, but Sixth-Gen Chevrolet Camaro Renderings have already started to circulate. As expected, some are more realistic than others, but as always, we won't know for sure until the real deal is revealed.

GM Authority has reported on a Sixth-Gen Chevrolet Camaro Rendering that appears to be our closest look yet at that the 2016 Camaro may look like. Taking inspiration from the Transformers 4 Bumblebee Camaro, this rendering seems to be more realistic that some of the more artistic versions we've seen floating around. In the front, the most notable design change is the thin grille and headlight setup with LED lights underneath. Plus, check out the dramatically sculpted lower part and rocker panel along the bottom side of the vehicle complimented by the signature Camaro triple vent setup and a window line similar to the current model.

We won't know what the sixth generation Camaro looks like until it makes its public debut for the 2016 model year, but you can stop by today to check out the current model! Today, Monday, January 20, 2014, is our first day of business in the new building and we can't wait to put all of the new features to use for you!

Our same great team has made the move across the street from our previous location, to a brand new facility with tons of exciting new features! When you first step foot into our new building, you'll be greeted by our dedicated reception desk in the new, beautiful 7 car showroom. The showroom also features a climate-controlled demonstration and delivery area where you can take a tour of any car on our lot out of the elements, or where you can learn about the features available on your new car after purchase.

In our new service center, you'll enjoy the new two lane, climate-controlled service reception drive where you can easily drop off and check in your vehicle for any service needed, no appointment needed! Plus, your vehicle will be serviced much quicker than before because we have 3x more overall service and parts capacity. Service will be quick for those who just need a quick check-up too. You'll get you in and out with our three dedicated quick lube oil change service bays, which is especially helpful for our guests that receive lifetime oil changes and tire rotations.

Especially noteworthy is our 24,000 sq. ft. space filled with 24 Challenger in-ground Hydraulic vehicle lifts. These lifts are the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly lifts ever produced and the in-ground lifts protect your doors from unwanted dent and door dings that can come from lifts with posts. For our Corvette and Camaro fans, we've added an in-ground Hunter Alignment Machine which is specifically designed for high performance sports car alignment capabilities.

2014 Silverado, Sierra Earn 5-Star NHTSA Overall Vehicle Score

DELAWARE, Ohio- Not only are General Motors' trucks some of the most capable, but they're also some of the safest, and they are engineered to be that way. That dedication to safety is paying off, too. As part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's New Car Assessment Program, the 2014 Silverado and Sierra earned 5-Star NHTSA Overall Vehicle Scores, the highest possible rating!

All cab configurations of the light-duty 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra trucks have now earned the 5-star Overall Vehicle Score. The regular and double cab versions now join the crew cab models which were tested previously. In fact, since the implementation of more rigorous requirements in the assessment program for the 2011 model year, these models are the first pickup trucks to receive the 5-star rating!

The 2014 Silverado, Sierra earned a 5-Star NHTSA Overall Vehicle Score as a result of the trucks' extensive use of high-strength steel and complete suite of advanced safety features. Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and Safety Seat Alert are all segment-exclusive safety features that are available on the new Silverado and Sierra. These onboard crash avoidance systems are used to prevent accidents from occurring by alerting the driver if the truck is approaching another vehicle too quickly or if the vehicle drifts out of the lane. Safety Seat Alert is a patented warning approach that warns the driver of approaching traffic on the left or right through the use of directional seat vibration pulses.

Additional vehicle technology features also work to keep Silverado and Sierra passengers safe. For example four-wheel, four-channel, antilock disc brakes work to prevent wheel lock-up in most road conditions, allowing for straight, more controlled stops. Or, the available trailer-sway control works to help drivers who are towing a trailer. Should the trailer begin to sway, the technology will intervene with braking or reduced engine power to help control the trailer.
