2014 Chevy Spark Named IIHS Top Safety Pick

2014 Chevy Spark Named IIHS Top Safety Pick

DELAWARE, Ohio- It's something that can be difficult to achieve in a minicar, but the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is recognizing Chevrolet for their dedication to safety! In 2014 model year testing, the 2014 Chevy Spark was named IIHS Top Safety Pick! In the Chevy Spark's first year of eligibility it became the only vehicle in the minicar segment to earn the Top Safety Pick rating!

Though minicars present unique safety challenges due to their size, the 2014 Chevy Spark IIHS Top Safety Pick delivers big safety in a small package. Chevrolet's extensive use of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steels throughout the vehicle provides additional protection to passengers from all angles. In addition to 10 standard airbags, a rollover sensing system, and countless other safety features, the 2014 Spark definitely earned its title!

In the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's recent testing, the 2014 Chevrolet Spark earned the highest possible "Good" score in the moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints tests. In the new small overlap test which is designed to replicate what happens when the front corner of the vehicle strikes another vehicle or object like a tree or utility pole, the Spark earned an "Acceptable" score.
