Chevy Keeps Families in Mind with 2015 Impala & Colorado

DELAWARE, Ohio - With the GM Foundation's recent release of the Safe Kid's Worldwide study showing that nine out of 10 parents transition their kids from a booster seat to a seatbelt before the suggested weight and height, General Motors wanted to do their part to eliminate risk. Chevy is keeping families in mind with the 2015 Impala and Colorado, which both easily accommodate child safety seats and will hopefully reduce the number of parents who move kids to the seat belt too early. 

Both the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and Impala have unique features to improve the safety of young passengers. Several child restraint manufactures require at least 80% of the safety seat to be supported by the back seat. The Colorado's patent-pending rear seat cushion extension help meet that requirement by making use of the removable headrest and rear seat cushion to accommodate the larger child safety seats out on the market today. 

Chevy keeps families in mind with the 2015 Impala, offering a generous amount of rear seating that not only has plenty of room for booster seats, forward-facing child or rear-facing child restraints, but is also large enough so that front-seat passengers do not have to compromise their comfort! The sedan's rear seating even offers child restraint LATCH anchors, offering more flexibility to growing families. 

Chevrolet has also improved the comfort of the shoulder belt to ensure that those young passengers who are big enough to use the seat belt are wearing it correctly. Plastic guides attach to the rear seat or side trim, helping to position the strap of the seat belt so that it fits more comfortably. This will prevent smaller adults from putting the seat belt behind their back or under their arm.
